The Lupus Foundation of Fiji was represented in the National Talanoa Session on Responding to Illicit Drugs in Fiji, that was facilitated by the Ministry of Policing, held on the last week of February. The 2-day Talanoa session had the Commisioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu, Lt.Col. Kulavati of the RFMF,, the Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Women, Children and Social Protection Ms. Selina Kuruleca, His Grace the Archbishop of Fiji Peter Loy Chong, Fiji 7’s Legend Waisale Serevi, Navy Commander (Retd.) John Fox, the Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions John Rabuku, representatives from the Ministry of Health, the UN, representatives from the New Zealand and Australian High Commissions and other prominent people in the public space. Communications Fiji Ltd’s Fiji Village facilitated the livestream coverage on Day 1, with Vijay Narayan as the moderator on the various panels throughout the day. The second day was dedicated to 3 breakout groups – Market-Reduction, Supply-Reduction and Harm-Reduction in trying to plug the loopholes and tweaking the draft Counter-Narcotics Bill 2026 that is to be tabled in parliament.
