2025 CAKAUDROVE LUPUS AWARENESS WEEK

The Lupus Foundation of Fiji would like to say ;

Vinaka vakalevu to SDNM Rozina Simpson of the Savusavu Sub-Divisional Hospital for coordinating and supporting a successful four days of Lupus Awareness across the Province of Cakaudrove. Your dedication and leadership Madam were instrumental in making this possible.

Special thanks to our main sponsors – the Ministry of Health and Medical Services and the Ministry for Women & Poverty Alleviation – for funding these vital outreach programs. We are also deeply grateful to the DMO Northern, SDMOs, and all Charge Zone Nurses & Managers whose efforts ensured the success of this important initiative.

Over the four days, we engaged with passionate and attentive Community Health Workers (CHWs) and community members from Buca Bay area and the Natewa Bay area and surrounding villages.

📍Korotasere Hall – July 21st

CHWs from Saqani, Korotasere, Biaugunu, Bucalevu, Yasawa , Koronatoga, Waivula , Navakaka and neighbouring villages met at Korotasere Village. Vinaka vakalevu SN Meri Babiau for arranging everything from the hall to the participants.

📍PA Conference at Savusavu HC – July 22nd

CHWs from Savusavu, Naweni, Nakorovatu, Nabalebale and neighbouring villages and settlements converge at the Savusavu Sub Divisional Hospital under the leadership of SDNM Simpson. Madam we are indebted.

📍Tukavesi Hall was yesterday – July 23rd

CHWs and reps from Bagasau, Tukavesi, Rabi, Kioa and surrounding villages met at the Tukavesi Medical Centre. . Thank you to all the nurses and the doctors who helped out. Thank you Sister Aonira Taboia for your presence. So appreciated Madam.

📍Natewa Nursing Station today – July 24th

CHWs and community members from Natewa and surrounding areas met at Medical Station nestledat the edge of the beautiful Natewa Bay. . Thank you NP Tomasi and your dedicated Team of Nurses ; Sanit , SN Karishma Priti, Nurse Interns Priyashni and Naleem for making today memorable.

We look forward to more collaborative health education efforts to improve outcomes for those affected by lupus and other NCDs. Together, we make a difference.
