International Lupus Day 2024

On the 10th of May of 2024, the Lupus Foundation of Fiji celebrated “International Lupus Day” and also the 5th birthday of the Foundation! The LFF invited the Permanent Secretary for Health – Dr. Jemesa Tudravu, to be our chief guest at this auspicious occasion.

In his address – Dr. Tudravu reassured the Foundation, that the work for the signing of an MOU with the Ministry was well underway from their end, and that they will be calling on the Foundation to play its part in working from its end, to put this historic document in place.

The celebration of “International Lupus Day 2024” was historic in the sense that this year, apart from Dr. Tudravu in attendance as chief guest – there were 2 former Permanent Secretaries for Health also in the room with us!

Also present at the celebrations was Dr. Lisi Tikoduadua – who is a locally renowned Paediatrician, who’s served for more than 40 years in the medical fraternity and is now retired. The event was held at the National Center for People with Disabilities (NCPD), of which the LFF is also affiliated to.
