One of the LFF’s Supporters – “Team Tilapia”, which is a group of professionals employed in the private sector but are part of “Leadership Fiji”, organized a fundraiser “QUIZ NIGHT” on behalf of the Foundation and raised a little bit of cash and also Awareness about this ‘auto-immune disease’.
Team Tilapia had reached out to their members in other corporate organizations to come and participate in this worthy cause, and a few high schoolers who were affiliated or connected with “Leadership Fiji” also participated in the event.
The questions were general knowledge in nature but they also had a segment relating to Lupus. This segment of the quiz was won by the younger generation (High Schoolers), who took out top honours in this segment, by correctly answering the majority of the questions. Present at the Quiz Night was the Executive Director of the LFF – Ms. Una Tuitubou and Board Member/Warrior – Mrs. Rani Hassan. Ms. Tuitubou later shared her sentiments that she was inspired and was very hopeful for our Awareness Campaigns as we begin to ‘touch’ schools – in that the younger generation present at the event, came out on top in the Lupus segment of the quiz, and are well informed about the disease.
